Not at all helpful. It remains not possible to remove TV shows and movies from the AppleTV app. Rather, I purchased the movie or TV show or rather, it was downloaded from Apple as a “promotion“.

I library of movies and TV shows his cluttered with tons of things which I never chose to download or purchase. They should not be represented in my library.

No where does Apple say this, but it looks as if maybe they are removable from an Apple Computer. However, they are not removable from and it looks as if maybe they are removable ONLY from an Apple Computer. However, they are not removable from an iPad or iPhone. Very disappointing that Apple can’t just say this.

It is certainly a problem for customers and something that should be fixed.

movies and television shows ON the iPad or iPhone do not allow for swiping left and selecting deleted.

Hello Matchka007,

We have a great support article that was linked to your posting that might help with this. Please take a look at it here: Delete movies and TV shows in the Apple TV app - Apple Support. Follow this guidance:

"Delete movies and TV shows on your iPhone or iPad

      1. Open the Apple TV app.
      2. Tap Library, then tap Downloaded. If you don't see Downloaded, you might not have any items stored on your device.
      3. Swipe left on the item that you want to delete, then tap Delete.
      4. Confirm when prompted.

Delete movies and TV shows on your Mac

      1. Open the Apple TV app.
      2. Click Library at the top of the window, then go to Library in the sidebar to find the item that you want to delete.
      3. Move your pointer over the item that you want to delete, then click the More Options button .
      4. Click Delete from Library, then confirm when prompted.

If you can't delete your movies or TV shows

      • Hide the item: Hiding an item removes it from your Library when you're signed in with your Apple ID.
      • Turn off computer syncing: If you used a USB cable to manually sync movies or TV shows from your Mac or PC to your iPhone or iPad, you can turn off syncing to remove the content from your Library.
      • Check if the item is downloaded: If you see the Download icon next to a movie or episode, it's downloaded on your device. If you don't see the Download icon, the movie or episode isn't downloaded."

We hope this helps. Let us know if we can assist with anything else at all. Take care.

Hi Matchka007,

Looking at this page from the Apple TV App User Guide, it doesn't mention random content will be added to your Library tab:

Library in the Apple TV app - Apple Support

If after reading that page, you're still seeing items you've not purchased, rented, or Family Sharing shared purchases in the Library tab, then we'd advise to contact Apple Support, so they can take a closer look.

Cheers.
