onscreen keyboard not showing up when connected with assistive touch (Show onscreen keyboard on) - iOS 16.3.1
Hi there, I am using wheelchair input devices/drive controls to connect to the iphone as mouse emulation through Assistive Touch. Recently we have been running into the issue where the onscreen keyboard will sometime not populate when a text field is selected despite the "Show onscreen keyboard setting" being enabled in the Assistive Touch settings. They have all been iPhone 12 or newer and all running iOS 16.3.1. We've never had to adjust any other settings.
I called into Apple Accessibility, and they confirmed we shouldn't have to adjust any other settings. Said it was a known issue, but I can't find any other accounts of the issue, just wanted to see if anyone else had any other similar experiences. The solution they offered for now was to power the phone on/off or toggle Bluetooth on/off when it happens but not all out users can easily turn their phone back on from a powered off state and if they turn off Bluetooth they may not be able to turn it back on independently either.
