iPad wallpaper dimming

My iPad wallpaper is dimming and no longer matches my widgets. I know it's not a problem with the photos themselves because it works perfectly fine and matches on my iPhone. Wallpaper dimming is off, auto brightness is off, night shift, true tone, and dark mode are all off. I've restarted the device and even reset the settings to factory in case I accidentally messed with them, but nothing is working. My iPad is up to date. I'm not sure what to do and it's super frustrating. I've tried with other images and every single one of them dims. How can I fix this?

Hi ttean,

You covered the majority of the most common reasons you may see your device dim. There is another possible reason for your display to dim, described at If your iPhone or iPad gets too hot or too cold:

"If your device gets too warm

iOS and iPadOS devices have built-in protections to prevent overheating. If the interior temperature of your device exceeds the normal operating range, your device will protect its internal components by attempting to regulate its temperature...

If the interior temperature of your device exceeds the normal operating range, you might notice these changes:..

The display dims or goes black."

Review that article and check to see if the behavior you're experiencing correlates with the conditions described which can cause your iPad to become warmer than normal.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I don’t think the issue is the temperature. Correct me if I’m wrong, but the temperature would cause everything to dim, but my wallpaper is the only thing that’s dimming. It looks fine when I view it in the photos app or a different app like procreate, so the issue is when I set things as the wallpaper.
