How do I get Search to find my files?
I have a few folders like this - search the folder - no results. Click to change scope to "this mac" - files are found in the folder I was trying to search in the 1st place. Ventura 13.2.
iMac 27″, macOS 13.2

I'll try the "reindex the whole **** disk" trick. Gonna take a while - I have 630Gb of files....

You can also use Spotlight search: Command Spacebar
Finder uses the Spotlight index on the Mac—Rebuild the Spotlight index on your Mac - Apple Support
I find the most comprehensive method above all others including the Terminal method, drag and drop the Macintosh HD, add it and then remove it.
you can verify the index is happening by opening spotlight,
compare your Finder results after the re-index is complete.
