During my lunch hour, I visited the Apple Store in Chadstone (Australia, Victoria) to purchase an iPad Air. However, I was informed I had to be added to a waiting list and could I just wait. Two different individuals recorded my name and requested that I wait for assistance. It seems reasonable to assume they could have taken my order instead of putting me on a waiting list. I end up walking out....

So you are upset because you were not assisted ahead of everyone else on the waiting list?
These are user to user technical forums and Apple will not see your comment here.
Would you appreciate service while your salesperson is multitasking taking care of others at the same time? I wouldn't. And, just so you know: sales associates are not the tech people working the Genius Bar.

When I need assistance I prefer to have dedicated attention rather than have someone multitasking assist me. But I can understand some wanting to be placed at the head of the line.
