Thanks for the link to the feedback site.

KiltedTim's answer must need some clarification for me. Many of these features are accessible without any connection, so why would pairing be required? The watch is capable of performing the tasks on it's own; except if set up for a family member for some reason.

If your Apple Watch can't connect to Wi-Fi, mobile data or your iPhone you can still: Check your heart rateTrack your menstrual cycle. Track your sleep. Measure your blood oxygen level. Take an ECG. and Track your medications.

This is what I am wondering about.. I do not understand why most of "The following features and apps are not available: Medications, respiratory rate, irregular heart rhythm notifications, ECG, AFib History, Cycle Tracking, Sleep, Wrist Temperature, Blood Oxygen, Audiobooks, Remote, News, Home, and Shortcuts"

Many of these features should not require being paired to a phone.

On the surface, this contradicting response does not appear to be constructive in any way. Without explicitly saying it, you have suggested my question is pointless; I respectfully disagree. It is sensible to imagine there may be a reason as to why these features are unavailable, and a member of this community may be informed. Noting that no one can answer this question, while providing a second answer (design decision) is not helpful. I will trust at the very least that you do not know the answer.

I think we can constructively interpret this response as clarification that your first answer re: 'needing to pair' was misinformed or a guess, and not based on any resources available to us users.

If this is simply an Apple design decision, that is fine. Do not worry, we are not breaching the Use Agreement by discussing. Speculation about unannounced products is prohibited, and we are chatting about existing products. Further, this community is supposed to welcome constructive feedback about product features.
