Gmail not accessible on MacBook mail

I noticed that my mail app on MacBook wasn't updating my current emails, the warning sign in the right hand corner said login failed... So I clicked it to get an error 400 code, and this link

redirect_uri: urn:ietf:wg:oauth:2.0:oob

Nothing I do makes any difference! The business email address I use is still accessible because it's not a gmail one! But it's driving me nuts jumping from the mail app to the google page to check emails!!

Anyone help?

Note—

IMAP accounts stay on the server, so no local loss, when you re-sync

POP accounts download and remove from the server—therefor save your inbox/sent box if you want them

“On My Mac" is just that, local folders you created and moved mail into. So no loss

Thank you for the response, I followed all the steps above, unfortunately when I tried to re-add the account I got the same error message

Authorisation Error

Error 400: invalid _request

You can't sign into this app because it doesn't comply with Google's OAuth 2.0 policy for keeping apps secure.

Absolutely no idea why this suddenly has occurred!
