iCloud is confusing! I pay for 50GB storage but am using less than 2GB, so who's telling me I've exceeded my storage?

I'm getting email reminder to upgrade to more iCloud storage because I've exceeded my storage. That's just nuts!

I pay monthly for 50GB iCloud Storage, and am using less than 2GB. So who's the Creep trying to extort additional payment from me?

See your current use at Settings > Apple ID > icloud

Your current use is shown in the image at the top.

And, check the size of your next backup

Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > iCloud backup > {DEVICE NAME}

You'll see the current backup and next backup size.
