How do I change my default to Driving in maps

My Maps keeps defaulting to Bicycle. How do I change it to Driving?

Apple Maps current vehicle speed I find Apple Maps to be even better than my old TomTom hardware and then the Android app. I did not even re-subscribe to the TomTom app after switching to the Apple platform. But why can Apple not see fit to add current vehicle speed to the app? I is not that hard to add current speed, especially when you've already built the best Nav app or h/w I used since 2004.

Apple maps seems to default to driving directions Apple maps always seems to default to driving directions even though I never use a car and set walking or public transport as preferred type of travel, it is but button to press and select walking or public transport but this gets very annoying and ruins the user experience. What purpose is served by offering to select a preference in settings when it always defaults to the same? And I refuse to use the competition mainly for privacy concerns… but getting very frustrated with this user experience. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

If you want to change your preferred type of travel, go to:

Settings → Maps → select Driving.

Alternatively, open the Maps app and tap your profile picture and select Driving. Then try restarting your device and see if your Maps keeps Driving as default.
