If your Wifi hardware is not recognized by your System then you have a hardware issue—that requires taking it n and geting it fixed..

Yes, it’s been setup but the Wi-Fi sign on the menu bar is greyed out and says “Wi-Fi not configured “
On System information,Car Type is “Airport Extreme (Ox14E4, Ox10F)

what is the status of Wi-Fi ??
That is not something you will be able to 'fiddle with' and get working.
leroydouglas had it right from the outset -- you need a service appointment.
