I have a 2013 iMac currenty running High Sierra, Version 10.13.6: is it possible to update this? I'm starting to encounter apps that require later version.


iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.13

You can upgrade up to Catalina 10.15.7. Be aware older 32bit apps will no longer run and will need updated or replaced. You can check which ones with Go64.

Easiest way to upgrade would be the Apple support page (support.apple.com) where it says “learn how to upgrade to Ventura” there is an option for installing older versions and the list is right there with all operating systems, since your already running high sierra your task is easier then if you were running anything prior. All you have to do is see the operating system list I mentioned and click the link for which version you want to install.
