Can an iPad (an iPad air 2 in this case) be mounted to a (wall mounted) electrical box?

I have an electrical box that only has a powered USB cable in it. I'd like to mount my iPad Air 2 to that box. All the wall mounts I have found mount to the wall directly not to an electrical box. Does anyone know of such a thing? If it was a tilting mount that would be even better, rotating 90 degrees as well better still.

Without knowing all the details about the box (dimensions, material), a difficult questions becomes even harder. Does the box stick out from the wall far enough to set the iPad on top of it? Depending on what the box is made of, can you add a magnet to a case and stick the iPad to the box? Does the box have a door that opens? Maybe ziptie the iPad to the door?

No. All switches and outlets are mounted in an electrical box like one of these

They come in sizes for several switches or 2 outlets as well. These boxes mount in various ways to the wall or to a stud, the needed wires are routed into the box, then the switch(es) or outlet(es) are mounted inside the box and a cover plate is attached. The screw holes for the cover plate are actually quite deep and are what an iPad mount could potentially use to attach it to the box.

Right. Perhaps I did not make that clear. All iPad mounts employ a holder of some sort that clamps onto or surrounds the iPad and that holder thing is what gets mounted. The electrical box in this case does not have line power in it, but just a USB (power only) line. So being able to find a mount, that would attach to such a box would be ideal so that I would not have to put more holes in the wall.

I was thinking you meant something like a breaker box. Do you mean an electrical outlet? I've never heard them called an "electrical box" so, I apologize for the confusion.

I can't think of a way you can mount an iPad to an outlet, regardless of whether it is a standard AC outlet or a USB port. You might try one of those shelves that attach to outlets, I guess.
