5g not working since iOS 16.4 upgrade

Exactly my point. I have done all the troubleshooting and even a lodge a complaint on my carrier service but it’s actually nothing to do with them this issue is only related to ios software itself.

I have the same issue on T-Mobile. Spent an hour going through troubleshooting and then they told me about this issue for 13 Pro Max and Apple is apparently working on a fix. Stuck on LTE for now it seems

It was an apple issue for me too, I contacted my carrier service first and it didnt solve the problem. After following this thread, someone suggested to reset the network settings so i did that and change from LTE to 5g on and it worked. Definitely an apple problem.

It is not a cellular issue, same sim giving 5g on an older ios version

You cannot make that assumption.

5G service is a combination of the account and your device.

The SIM alone doesn’t define whether your phone will “see 5G,” but rather the phone’s frequency range dictates whether the cellular tower can provide the service.

As different models of iPhones support different service modes, you cannot just move the SIM and pronounce differences to be due to the phone unless it is the exact same model.

It was not working on my iphone 14 pro too after updating to 16.4.1, i have tried to reset the network also contacted with my carrier provider & restarted the phone, nothing worked then i unable the low power mode on my phone & 5g is started showing on status bar. So you can also try doing that if it helps you. 😊

Even I’m having the issue after I updated to 16.4.1 my 5G is not working tried restarting flight mode and workplace is 15 miles from where I live. It doesn’t change to 5G.

Same here - i have tried resetting the network settings, rebooted my phone many times, tried different wifi connections. My 4g/5g is just not working since the update and I have no clue how else to troubleshoot. Please help Apple team🙌🏻

Having same issue except my 5g & LTE barely works. I literally have to switch back and forth every 5 mins just to be able to use my phone. & while I’m on a phone cap, my phone won’t work regardless. Won’t get any notifications Facebook won’t work will constantly tell me i have no internet connection but soon as i hang up all the notifications come in

If you're not on a 5G or VoLTE connection (meaning 4G or older) that's how things may work, there may not be bandwidth to handle voice and data simultaneously.

Phone doesn’t have 4g. It’s the 12 Max. My phone barely works on Wi-Fi . Nothing ever wants to load anymore unless i switch back & forth every 5mins

Had the same issue on an iphone 13 mini and it was definitely something that happened as a result of switching to 16.4.1 (a). Connection was stuck to 4G on both sim cards I use in spite of all the right settings being selected and in spite of numerous network resets, device restarts etc.

Fixed it by updating the OS to version 16.5. It works now.
