Missing iMovie projects on ipad

Hi,

I use iMovie to edit fairly simple but lengthy videos for YouTube. It’s cumbersome, but it’s what I’ve got. It’s an older model iPad. Often when I try to export a newly finished project to MP4, the prompt comes up that there’s not enough storage even though there is plenty. In the past, the fix for this was to download the newest version of iMovie and try again.

Tonight, I tried this fix and all of my projects are gone including the 32 min project I’ve spent weeks on. All of the fixes I see online suggest using Finder and recovering iMovie files but that’s not an option on my iPad.

Any ideas? I’m devastated.
