I am still seeing the titles below the thumbnails.

Have you checked, if the titles are still enabled in the menu "View > Metadata > Titles"? And is the aspect ratio still set to the correct ratio and not to "square"? You may want to check the toggle switch in the toolbar. If "Square" is selected, there will be no space for the titles between the tiled thumbnails.

The aspect ratio may also change, if we set the zoom slider to a very low value. If we zoom out too far, the miniatures will be tiled as squares.
