Does my phone carrier bill me when using esim abroad

Hi there, I'm planning on renewing my Vodafone contract next month but will be travelling to Dubai in June and then plan on spending a few months in SE Asia then moving to Sydney for a while. Can anyone tell me if it's worth renewing contract with an esim? If so, will the esim usage be charged through my Vodafone contract or will this create another bill for whatever country I'm in?

thanks

Hi there!

When it comes to using an eSIM abroad, the charges will depend on your specific phone carrier and their policies. It's important to check with your carrier, Vodafone, to see if they have any international roaming options or packages that you can purchase to avoid any surprise charges while using the eSIM abroad.

In some cases, you may also need to purchase a local SIM card in the country you're traveling to if Vodafone doesn't have good coverage or if they don't offer affordable roaming options. This would mean that you would have a separate bill for the local SIM card usage in addition to your Vodafone contract.

I suggest contacting your carrier, Vodafone, and asking about their international roaming policies for eSIM. They can give you information on any additional fees or charges you may incur while using eSIM abroad. It's also a good idea to check with the countries you plan on visiting to see if they have any restrictions on eSIM usage or additional fees.
