iMac g3 does not finish booting
Gives me the screen as shown in the picture and I go to restart it and I don’t get no splash screen just restarts and does the same thing
Just put 20gb hardrive in it and just installed Mac OS 8.5 and now the cd drive hums when I put a disc in probably just seated it wrong though
also there is no pram battery

You need to install the OS software using either the original iMac restore disk that shipped with that model or an Apple OS 9 or 9.1 retail disk having a universal installer. A retail disk with OS 8.6 would work, but it was produced for a very brief time and difficult to find now. That's why I'd suggest looking for OS 9 or 9.1.
