Get rid of the News in the Weather App?

Please remove and/or help me remove News feed in the Weather app.

How to remove news+ in the Apple news app? How do you disable news+ in the Apple news app? I have no desire to ever use this and it's just spamming me articles I would never read. For now I just switched to Google news. Normally I use both but this seems to be blatant mass spam. I hope there is a way, It's kind of sad such a wealthy company needs to force feed spam with no option to disable. *reposting this as the issue was never resolved.

You may stop notifications from the Weather app if you currently receive them. But you cannot stop weather news appearing on the city’s weather display.
