How to verify all photos downloaded from iCloud Photos?

Hello,

How can I confirm all photos have been downloaded to my Mac when using iCloud Photo Library and when Download Originals is turned on in my Mac’s settings?

Thank you!

Hi Garrett_1,

To clarify, you want to know how to know your photos have finished downloading on your Mac, correct? In some cases, you might see a status bar showing a file count near the bottom of the Photos app. Otherwise, since iCloud Photos works automatically, once you change the "Download Originals" setting as you mentioned, you shouldn't need to take any action. See this for more detail: Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support

Take care.

Hi ryane77,

Thank you for helping me with this. Yes, that is correct. I want to know how to know my photos have finished downloading on my Mac.

I don’t use iCloud Photo Library yet, but am trying to understand more about it before turning it on. In the case when there won’t be a status bar, how do I know that all of my photos have finished downloading?

Thank you!
