Adobe Acrobat

I have used Adobe Acrobat for years but suddenly they want me to use a subscription service. My needs are very simple and I can't justify the expense. Is there another app available?

There are PDF Editors in the Mac App Store that are non-subscription, and far less expensive than Adobe Acrobat (e.g. Nitro PDF, PDF Expert, etc.) and externally, Code Industry's Master PDF Editor to name a few. All have trial products with unpaid limitations.

Nitro PDF used to be branded as PDFpen Pro until acquired by Nitro Software. When it was PDFpen Pro, I actually coded some Adobe Acrobat JavaScript (AcroJS) in it to place an expiration date on a PDF. The paid version can convert PDF to Word documents.
