Difference between auto join and auto login

Hi everyone, please could someone kindly explain the difference for the WiFi settings?

I want the settings to be so that if I’m in public my phone doesn’t automatically connect to a WiFi hotspot I’ve used before, but that if I manually select one I’ve used before it will login me automatically.

By setting auto join off and auto login on, will that work?

Basically I don’t want the phone to try and login to the WiFi hotspot without me selecting it, so I’m worried leaving auto login might try to do that?
