2016 MBP. Internet recovery fails. No code. Sats “try again”

2016 MBP Internet recovery fails. It does not offer a code in the error message. It suggests that I try again. Repeatedly fails. Reformatted SSD in apfs format / GUID is fine.

I suppose that Monday I could make a clean install USB on another system. But if anyone has any suggestions on how to get it to work with Internet recovery, be glad to try.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.15

Reset the SMC and NVRAM, and restart your Wi-Fi router, and try again. If you have an Ethernet dongle, try wiring and using that path. And yes, creating a bootable installer is probably in your future.
