I was upgrading my system and I got an alert that my laptop was trying to reach out the site:
gs.apple.com.v.aaplimg.com
I am wondering if it could be some malware; I can see the main domain is not "*.apple.com" which make me thing about some not reliable site.
Can apple confirm if this site is secure?

On the surface, it certainly looks like that is not an Apple web site.
however, that name looks up to 17.137.162.1
and when you whois that number, Apple owns all the addresses from 17.0.0.0 through 17.255.255.255, so it IS an Apple web site.
False alarm.
