Apple ID greyed out

The most common cause for your Apple ID being greyed out in Settings is content and privacy restrictions that would keep you from making changes to that information. Since you mentioned that you don't have those set up, we recommend checking for a profile using the steps in Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone. These are commonly used on devices that are for example issued by work.

• "You can see the profiles you have installed in Settings  > General > VPN & Device Management. If you delete a profile, all of the settings, apps, and data associated with the profile are also deleted."

If you find a profile and don't have the ability to remove it from the device, we recommend reaching out to the group that issued the device to you for additional support.

The Settings for Apple ID is greyed out. When I try to access the screen time, I plug in my password and it says that it is not the correct password.

I recently got rid of a iPad. Is that the problem?

When I set up my restriction it asked me to create a new password/pin on the spot and confirm it so that it is different to your Apple ID. This is to provent someone getting your passcode to the phone and then using it to lock you out of your profile without an extra layer of protection
