I have a new iPhone mini, and one of the biggest reasons I bought it was to receive audible alerts from my home security system. However, no alerts or notifications are producing any sounds. I've tried the dozens of suggestions available, and nothing has worked. I just upgraded to 16.4, and it made no difference.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I'm not sure how to get to an equivalent screen. I just loaded 16.4, and I'm not seeing any options for immediate delivery. I thought last night, however, that I had solved this problem. But things got even more confusing. I was testing a number of suggested fixes by sending myself mail and seeing whether I got a notification, with or without sound. But at some point I also lost volume on my ringtone. I could not get a ringtone louder than a whisper. I found a suggestion about going to Settings > Accessibility > Face ID & Attention and turning off Attention Aware Features. Weirdly, this seemed to cure both the ringtone and the notification sound problems. Everything was cool until I tried again this morning, when the notification sounds mysteriously went away again. I turned Attention Aware Features on and off again, and for a few moments the notification sound went away. But now it's gone again, and repeating that action does not help. What the ****?
No notification sound on iPhone, even with 16.4.
