Bluetooth

Need advice. I have switched from android to ios. After connecting my phone to the car, I have no sound from the phone in the car. On android there was an option to only share contacts via bluetooth and then the car's headset would work and messages (e.g. navigation) would work normally on the phone. Is it possible to do this on the iphone?

iPhone 14 Pro Max, iOS 16

If you're having trouble getting sound from your iPhone when connected to your car...

  1. Make sure that the volume on your iPhone is turned up and not on silent or vibrate mode.
  2. Check that the volume on your car's audio system is turned up and not muted or set to a very low level.
  3. Verify that your iPhone is connected to your car's audio system using the appropriate method. Depending on your car and iPhone, you may need to use a Lightning cable, Bluetooth, or an auxiliary cable to connect your phone to your car's audio system. Make sure that you have selected the correct input or source on your car's audio system to hear audio from your phone.
  4. If you're using Bluetooth to connect your iPhone to your car, try unpairing your phone and then pairing it again. This can sometimes help to resolve connectivity issues.
  5. If you're using an auxiliary cable to connect your iPhone to your car, try using a different cable to see if that resolves the issue.
  6. Restart your iPhone and your car's audio system to see if that resolves the issue.

If none of these steps work, there may be a problem with your car's audio system. In this case, you may want to consult with a professional car dealer for further assistance.
