Why do you I hear a knocking on wood type of sound when I am on the phone with other iPhone users? Does anyone else have this problem? It is very annoying I tried iPhone reset and carrier and hardware and no luck

So I’ve been having the same issue, I thought my friend I talk to all the time was doing major remodeling. Anyway, I also have Mint, so today I tried turning WiFi calling off and that seems to work, I’ve been on the phone for a few hours and the hammering is gone. Give it a try!
Agree with so many users here. To me it sounds like the metal string hitting the glass bowl on a ceiling fan… I have t-mobile and am iPhone 15.

Same problem with my new IPhone 14. Didn't have this problem with my old IPhone 6 and I had TMobile then and now.
I recently switched to T mobile, have a brand new iPhone 14. I started noticing the steady tapping during long calls a few weeks ago. The other person cannot hear it.
I’ve been hearing it also and returned and exchanged two phones and it happened on both I’m with t mobile also but they cant fix the problem

I thought my bf was doing it unconsciously because I start suspecting he has DID and every time his voice tone changes, I start hearing the tapping…

I’m having the same issue my boyfriend said he hears it but I don’t, I see people saying it’s probably a T mobile issue but I have Verizon and I don’t know how to fix it

Unfortunately the knocking happens off of speaker too.
I have T-mobile and an iPhone and I hear the hammering in the background when using my iPods. It’s so annoying especially since the other person can’t hear it.
Same here I only hear it with certain people and one of them don’t have a IPhone
