So I have had my iPad 8th gen for a good while now. No problems, it had been doing fine. I then noticed one day no chargers would work. I checked a couple of times and noticed they were apple chargers. They wouldn’t fit. I then realized only one specific charger would work. I’m talking about just one charger. What is happening to my iPad?

Based on the way you're describing the issue, it's possible that there may be two different types of cables in use here; Lightning and USB-C. At first glance, the two connectors can look really similar but they aren't actually compatible or interchangeable. The image below is of a USB-C to Lightning adapting cable, which should hopefully illustrate the difference. The USB-C side is on the right, while the Lightning connector is on the left:
