PLANNING A DRIVE WITH MAPS

THIS IS FOR APPLE SOFTWARE MAPS DEVELOPERS AND THE COMMUNITY. Pay attention.

First, I have never been so disappointed in a software application as I am in Maps or Google Maps or mapping device in the 21 century. Why? Let me show you.

I need to drive from FL to ME. All mapping software states the fastest route is about 21 hours. FINE. But not one mapping AP allows me to plug in a variable called "TIME" OR DURATION. Because I can't drive 21 hours straight. SO, a killer feature would be the ability to choose how long I want to drive, say 8 hours from my home along the established mapped route to Maine. Thus I will drive 8 hours to a destination and spend the night. BONUS: Now you can pop up information pertinent to me, like hotels in the area, etc. Is this really that hard to create?

Troubleshooting the App Store:

Contact the Developer:

If you are having such issues, then you need to contact the Developer, letting them know what exactly is occurring here. Ask them for feedback on how to dx things. You'll find their Contact Us info in the app's site of the App Store.

That's a great idea, but all the current mapping aps already do this.

Many years ago, AAA triptiks would plan paper map routes with hourly estimates along the route. Never paid much attention to it bcz I would drive 10-14 hours at a clip, I have even done the ME/FL trip straight through, but now I want to use a scheduled time of leave, drive 8 hours and see how far it goes. Obviously if it lands in the middle of nowhere I will drive to the nearest town/hotel/gas/restaurant. Perhaps I don't understand the current map aps purpose shy of showing me a route with total miles/hours.
