Can I auto-sort apps on my Home Screen?
I want to auto sort my apps on my home screen; I hate that they all get shifted if I move one app; is there something I can do about this?

You have just two ways of doing that: use the steps provided in the support article that led you here, or reset the home screen layout as per this support page:--> Move apps and widgets on the Home Screen on iPhone.
But you're not addressing Apple here and we, just users like you, are not aware of Apple plans/designs/decisions.
