2factor identification error

I have an older iPad and am trying to sign into iCloud. I get an error message saying my username or password is incorrect. It’s not as I’ve checked them on my iPhone. I’ve tried using the 6 digit code after my password that I get after I ‘allow’ it from my iPhone. Is there a work around for this as my iPad doesn’t my 2 factor identification.

Hi there sarina154,

In order to use an Apple ID with two factor authentication enabled on your iPad, it needs to meet these requirements from Manage two-factor authentication for your Apple ID from iPad:

Two-factor authentication for Apple ID is available iOS 9, iPadOS 13, OS X 10.11, or later.

Since your iPad cannot be updated to iPadOS 13, there would not be a way to use this Apple ID with this device. If you are trying to accomplish something specific with your iPad, please provide more details so that we can help as best we can.

Cheers!
