Delete Text or I message

Thank you for posting to Apple Support Communities.

We understand you'd like to permanently delete messages on iPhone. Is that correct?

Take a look here:

"Deleted messages remain in your Recently Deleted folder for up to 30 days, and you can recover them. To permanently remove a message, tap Edit (or Filters) in the top-left corner, tap Show Recently Deleted (or Recently Deleted), select the messages or conversations you want to remove, tap Delete, then follow the onscreen instructions."

Open Messages

Delete the message that you no longer need

Tap Edit in the upper left hand corner of the screen

Tap Show Recently Deleted

Tap to select the message that you no longer need

Tap Delete

Tap Delete again to confirm that the message will be permanently deleted
