iphone 14 pro won't connect to my 2.4ghz wifi network

Hi. I'm sorry if this question has already been asked, but I've scrolled through several pages without seeing an answer...

I recently had to purchase a new modem as mine decided to crap out. This has caused havoc with all of my "smart" devices as they all have to be redone with the new modem( I input the same network names and passwords as before). When this happened, I found that my iphone 14pro will not connect to my 2.4 ghz wifi network. My phone acts like it's connecting, but then says there is no internet connection. 5g works just fine. I need to be able to get on that network as all "smart" devices require that.

I have spent an hour on the phone with ARRIS who is my modem/router. Went through several steps with no resolution.

• I have re-started my modem several times
• It is not the modem or wifi network as I am able to connect my Surface Pro to the 2.4ghz network with no problem
• I have updated (16.1) and restarted my phone
• I have tried turning off cellular and data
• I have made sure that Wi-fi assist is on
• I have never had this issue with my Samsung phone

Any suggestions/help different from what I have already tried would be much appreciated. It's very frustrating not to be able to control or add to my "smart devices".
