Apple Music 'now playing' 'mirroring' on iphone and Mac?
I'd like what is "Now playing" on my iphone's Apple Music to be reflected on my Apple Music on my Mac while it is being streamed. This would be similar to if I am running Spotify on my iphone and have the Spotify app on the computer, I can seamlessly control "now playing" from either device. Instead, with Apple Music, iphone and Mac are registered as two separate authorized devices, and when I press play on one device, it stops playback on the other.
The closest I can get is using the Apple Remote app on the iphone. This works, but for example, if I'm already streaming something on the iphone music app, the Remote method doesn't pick what's playing. Once I begin playing from my Mac, (eg. from a station created from a song I like), then I get the intended "mirroring" effect. However I can't add or otherwise interact with the song with the remote beyond pause or skip.
I have Listening History and Home Sharing turned on, and Itunes/iCloud libraries are synced...Is this an Apple Match fix? Handoff? Device Control?
There has to be an easier way Apple Music can be seamless across devices in 2023, no? Am I missing something?
