If I turn off Apple photos, will I still have my photos saved to my Google account?

If I only want to use google photos and I turn off my apple photos, will I still have my photos and videos saved to my google account?

  1. iCloud Photos and Google Photos are 2 independent services, they have nothing to do with each other.
  2. If you are currently using Google Photos to store your photos, then turning off iCloud Photos will do nothing to those photos.
  3. If you have the "Backup and Sync" option turned on in the Google Photo's app Settings, then it automatically uploads photos from your iPhone's camera roll / Recents album to Google Photos. Otherwise, you would need to manually be moving photos to the Google Photos app to get them uploaded to Google Photos.

If you go to https://photos.google.com and see your photos there, when logged in with your Google account, then you are fine, and can turn off iCloud Photos. If you don't see them, then you aren't actually using Google Photos to store your photos. Or at least not on the account you logged in with on the website.
