I only have a United States ID card. Will this work as an identification method?

I got approved for the Apple Card and I only have two methods for the Identification method. Either my US passport or my United States ID and for those assuming that it means I have a state ID - no it’s not! It just simply says United States of America on it. It was issued by the US embassy abroad and I do not want to go to the DMV to get an additional Id.

No. You need a state-issued ID.

The first time that you verify your identity, you might be asked for this information:

  • Your full name
  • Your Social Security number
  • Your date of birth
  • Your home address2
  • Answers to questions regarding your personal history
  • An image of your valid driver license or state ID card

To use all the features of Apple Cash3 you must verify your identity.

If you enter the wrong information, try to verify your identity again. If you don't see the option to verify your identity, contact Apple Support.
