Recover Apple Music Account

How can I recover/reactivate my apple music account? I stopped the subscription for a couple months, then tried subscribing again and my account was brand new. I would like my previous account.

There is only a short grace period between subscriptions whereby your library is retained. You’ll have to start from scratch.
