Tell time with haptic feedback on Apple Watch
When it’s in silent mode, Apple Watch can tap out the time on your wrist with a series of distinct taps. Do the following:
You can also configure Taptic Time on iPhone. Open the Apple Watch app on iPhone, tap My Watch, go to Clock > Taptic Time, then turn it on.
Note: Taptic Time is disabled if Apple Watch is set to always speak the time. To be able to use Taptic Time, first go to Settings
> Clock, then turn on Control With Silent Mode under Speak Time.

Hi, hope this answer will hilp you better: Hold two fingers on the watch face to hear the time. Apple Watch can also play chimes on the hour. In the Settings app on Apple Watch, tap Clock, then turn on Chimes. Tap Sounds to choose Bells or Birds. (Tell time on Apple Watch – Apple Support (UK))
Hope this will help :)
#sigdriv - Thanks for the information. I wasn't even aware the watch could even do that, so it's not quite what I was looking for. I'll try to get more specific.
I've heard that there is a setting for an audio chime on the hour. Is there a setting to get a similar haptic response(s) (only) at the start of each our, without the audio chime?
The playing of the chimes on the hour is what I was thinking of. However, I want to replace the chime with a haptic response. I only would like to have a haptic response on the hour. I do not want to have a chime. Is this possible?
I do not use any audio on my watch, (such as, I only use haptic responses for messages/emails/calls/etc. - not audio/chimes) so, in theory, that sounds like it would be ok with me.
I'm wondering if my watch may already be in silent mode.
A couple months ago, I tried to set this up myself... but I could only get either just chimes or chimes with haptic feedback. Since I could not get it to work without also chiming, I gave up. Today, I thought I would throw the question out to see what type of response I could get.
Ok, the only way I know how to do that is to set your watch on silence mode, that is the only way I know but maybe someone else knows that.
