Why does my iPhone home app have notification badges?

Hi several months my home app has had a notification badge with the number two attached to the side of it. This shows on both my iPad and my iPhone. When I open the app, I don’t see anything that needs attention. What could be the cause of this and the fix?

iPhone 11 Pro, iOS 16

Try opening the Home app and tap the Action Button (⋅⋅⋅) in the upper right corner and select Home Settings. Go through the menu and see if there is anything that needs to be updated or changed. If you don't have any home devices set up and you don't use the Home App at all, select Remove Home at the bottom.

Okay - if you don't have any accessories installed in the Home App, you can try to delete it, restart your iPhone, and download it again.

If the notification badge is still there, you can also choose to disable it here:

Settings Notifications Home → disable Allow Notifications. This will remove the red badge.
