What happens if my iPhone is stolen and I want to access my iCloud account on my laptop?

What happens if my phone is stolen and I want to access my icloud account on my laptop? how can I go through two factor authentication to find report stolen and erase data on my phone when I have already lost my phone?

You can log into find my using an internet browser without needing a two-factor code if you go to www.icloud.com/find

Note the "/find" in the address.


However, for other access to iCloud.com you will need a two factor code. I would encourage you to set up more than one trusted phone number. The numbers can be androids, landlines, friends or relatives. See the "About trusted phone numbers and trusted devices" section of Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support

and the "Get a text or phone call" section of Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication - Apple Support
