Freeform - sychronizing between iPad and iPhone/MacBook Pro

I'm running Freeform on all 3 devices in the same WiFi LAN at home (iPad, iPhone, MacBook Pro).

Then I did the test: I created an "original" drawing on each device

They only partially replicate:

iPhone -> iPad & MBP: works - snched within minutes
MBP -> iPad & iPhone: works - same
ipad -> iPhone and MBP does NOT work ! Nothing at all. The older ipad "originals" also do not appear.

Any suggestions how to fix this, as I created quite a few complex (iPad) originals, and want to continue to use them on my MacBook Pro. Quite fustrating at the moment!

Access your Freeform boards on your other Apple devices - Apple Support

"To keep your Freeform boards up to date on all your Apple devices where you’re online and signed in with the same Apple ID, you can use iCloud.

Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud.
Below Apps using iCloud, tap Show All, then turn on Freeform (green is on).
