Apple Music won't pick up where I leave off

This is a question for my boyfriend's apple music on his Iphone . It always starts back over alphabetically when he get back in it. Even if he doesnt exit the app. How does he get it to just pick up where he has left off?

App to play one song then stop I am looking for an app that will play one song then stop playing. Doing a search for this only brings up complaints that Apple Music only plays one song. I’ve never had that issue but I want to be able to do this. Preferably I would like to download the songs into the app to keep them separate from my Apple Music. Before I get instructions on making playlists with just one song - I don’t want to have 200 separate playlists. I just want to choose a song, play it then stop playing and that the playing continues when the phone is locked. I had great success with this in the Goodreader app but that now crashes as soon as the phone locks so it doesn’t even play one song.

Apple Music missing Recently Searched I noticed that I don’t have any Recently Searched record on Apple Music on my iPhone, although I have searched a lot of songs, so when I searched something it just doesn’t record it and when I come back the recently searched is empty, while a search in My Library will record the search. This only happens to my iPhone, as the search bar in the Apple Music in my iPad works just fine and it has all the search history I have on the iPad. This is quite frustrating as most times I listen to music on my iPhone, and I have looked for any related setting everywhere but so far I couldn’t find it. Hope someone can help!

Apple music profile I cannot seem to find my profile for apple music on my iphone when i open the apple music tap select listen now and then click on the picture in the top right of the screen i do not get a menu to edit my profile and accept requests however this problem only seems to occur on my iphone because using itunes i was able to set up my profile and can edit it anytime however this is far from ideal i have tried multiple troubleshoots but to no avail i have restarted my iphone,i have changed restrictions,i am within the countries where find my friends is available, and i am running the lastest version of IOS at the time of writing. I have also tried restarting my phone but that hasn’t changed anything.

Hi CLL1972,

Without the steps currently being taken to play music on his iPhone, specific recommendations on what to change would not be possible.

It is worth noting however that some vehicles will automatically play music upon connection starting with the first track alphabetically. If that is the nature of the concern, consulting with the car radio manufacturer would be advised.

For general playback, if a previous song was paused that should display at the bottom of the Apple Music screen with a play option to resume. More information on controls and options can be found at Listen to music and more in the Apple Music app.
