MacBook screen stays black when restarting. I have to reinstall my MacOS but I don't have enough storage, but I can't delete any files.
Hi,
My Intel MacBook Pro decided to not restart all of a sudden. I have worked on it all day and suddenly after I left my office, and got home it didn't start up again.
Here's what happens:
- I can tell the macbook is on, the keyboard lights up, but my screen stays black.
- I went to Disk Utility, where I ran first aid on all volumes, containers, and the disk. This was all successful, without any problems.
- Now I try to reinstall my MacOS but I don't have enough storage available on my disc. And of course I can't delete any files, since my Mac doesn't restart properly.
Is there any way to delete files in the disk utility, so I don't have to fully wipe my disc?
I do have an external harddrive with a time machine backup from 3 weeks ago. But I'm afraid that it wont be able to reinstall this, due to the lack of storage space, when reinstalling MacOS. And wiping my disc is the last thing I want to do.
if anyone has any tips, please let me know!
Thanks,
Pim
