Separate eSIM on Apple Watch

I would like to use the Apple Watch eSIM with a separate SIM and even provider than the iPhone it is coupled with. Is that possible?

You must use the same eSIM provider and phone number as the one on your iPhone.

If your phone was paired to a family member's iPhone then it can be done but usage of many functions is restricted.
