Cannot find "open with files" files by AirDrop on iPad Air 5

I tried to airdrop pdf files from my MacBook to iPad Air 5, and I choose "open with files" on my iPad. After the file has been sent, I cannot find this file anywhere on my iPad.

When choosing Open with Files, you will be able to choose the storage location/path to save the AirDropped file.

If you cannot subsequently find the saved file, try searching for the file by its name - either using the Search dialogue at top-right of the Files Window - or using Siri Search from any Home Screen…

Touch any empty space on any Home Screen - avoiding App/folder icons and screen corners/edges. Swiping downwards will expose the Search dialogue.
