Is it possible to set iOS default apps e.g. for Markdown documents?

have multiple apps on my various iOS devices that can open / handle Markdown (.md) files: Editorial, iA Writer, 1Writer…

But I don’t see how iOS picks the app that will be used for opening Markdown files when selecting in the File app. It seems to be the last one installed, which may not be what a user wants.

Is there a way to set default apps for opening file types (.txt, .md. etc.) in iOS or at least find out which pattern is used to assign file types to installed apps?

(In macOS, this can easily be set / changed in the Finder.)

Thank you.

I am sorry for having to say this, but in almost 30 years of using online forums, this has to be the most useless response I have ever received.

If you have absolutely nothing to contribute to a specific question (and I was highly specific, asking about iOS handling certain file types), why do you have to paste some generic, meaningless boilerplate text about “difficulty with third-party apps or a specific website” in here? Why would someone in their right mind believe that this could be helpful in any way?

Are you really that desperate for getting a few upvotes?

If you are experiencing any difficulty with third-party apps or a specific website then please contact the app developer or site publisher/host directly. Here is how
