I want to sell my iPhone but i want to still use my watch is this possible?

I’m selling my iPhone and jumping ship. Kk I’ll probably be back in a few months lol

will my watch stop working once i wipe my iPhone? I’m paying for an Apple Watch data contract and if it’s no longer going to work I’ll have to cancel. It would be a shame because i use my watch everyday for notifications and also checking messages not just texts. I also use it for exercise and for the time and weather. I love my apple watch
