Mainstage 3.6.3 and Behringer Motor 49 and 61 Midi Controller Faders Moving
I saw in a previous thread about how some were having problems with a Behringer Motor 49 and 61 with your motorized faders moving correctly from patch to patch within a concert after a MainStage upgrade. Unfortunately, it appears that all the settings didn't get moved with the MainStage update. To get your faders moving again from patch to patch within a concert...
Part A - Make sure your faders in the "Edit" view are selected to follow the global concert setting.
- Make sure your Motor midi controller is on the latest firmware. My Motor 61 is on ver. 1.091.
- In your MainStage concert, go to the "Edit" view.
- Make sure the "Workspace" tab is selected at the top.
- Click on one of your Motor faders in your Workspace.
- Under the "Screen Control Inspector", make sure the "Attributes" tab is selected.
- The "Parameter Value" for "On Patch Change" and "Respond to Hardware Move" should be set to the value "Setting". This is to make sure your global settings are used for patch change routing.
- Repeat the previous steps 4-6 for each fader in your Workspace, then move to Part B. To be safe, I checked all the patches in my concert to make sure this setting was correct for each fader.
Part B - Change the global settings for your faders.
- Make sure your Motor midi controller is on the latest firmware. My Motor 61 is on ver. 1.091.
- In your MainStage concert, go to the "Layout" view.
- Select one of your Motor faders in your layout.
- Under the "Hardware Input" section, notice that the value attributed to "Send Value To" is set to "None". Change this setting from "None" to "Port 1 MOTOR61 Keyboard". (If you have a MOTOR49, it will show up as a selection here.)
- Select each of the faders in the layout and change the setting like you did in the previous step.
- Save the concert.
Now, you'll have your faders move to the correct levels on your Motor keyboard as you change patches.
I hope this helps. I absolutely love my MOTOR61 midi controller and how it interfaces with MainStage. Its settings aren't mapped automatically when it's attached, which is a bummer. But, it is such a powerful controller when you go through and set it up properly.
