Apple watch 5 unable to check for update

I tried everything and my apple watch doesn’t connect to the iPhone. Watch needs to be updated but I can update cuz I get this error: unable to check for update. I tried every step I found on internet: change region, uninstall app, internet settings and more. Nothing is working

Same here. Just noticed this today. This is a watch 6.

Things tried:

storage (I'm at ~6GB of 32)
battery: 61% charged
restart device.. still an issue.
FULL RESET, then restore, still an issue.
"Automatic Updates" have always been ENABLED
Wifi seems working (have 2 connections here, tried both)
... I can reinstall old apps, or install new ones. so yeah Internet is working.

I am stuck at watchOS 9.2... with an update to something available.

I have spent 4 hours on this.
