delete multiple files icloud

I'm trying to delete files in Icloud webpage access, and I can't do it; when I go to my iCloud drive, I see the files I have saved there. If I select a file, I can click the trashcan and delete it, but when I select >more< than one, the trashcan becomes greyed out, and I can't do it. So I have to delete each file manually, which wouldn't be >horrible< if I could use the delete key, but no, I have to click a file, move to the trashcan and click it, move back to the files and select another, back and forth.
